PMSF

PMSF is a protease inhibitor adding often to protein samples to prevent degradation of the protein by proteases (protein enzymes that digest other proteins). Used in western blot sample preparation and other protein protocols.

PMSF Buffer Recipe

To make PMSF 100 mM which is equal to 17.4 mg/ml.

• Dissolve 1.74g PMSF (MW 174) in isoproponal
• Add to total 100 mL (of isopropanal)
• Aliquot PMSF solution

Storage of PMSF

Store at -20oC for long-term storage, or short-term at R.T.
