M9 media

M9 media is a form of liquid media used in the culture of bacteria.

M9 (Minimal) Medium Preparation

• 10X Salts

1. 30g Na2HP04
2. 15g KH2PO4
3. 5g NH4Cl

Bring ot 500 mLs of Distilled water.

Dilute 20mLs 10X Salts to 200mLs with water and autoclave.

Add filter sterilized solutions to the cooled salt solution.

1. 0.2 mL 1M MgSO4
2. 2.0 mL 10mM CaCl2
3. 2.0 mL 20% Glucose
4. 0.2 mL 10 mg/ml thiamine
