    The standard therapy in Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis is based on corticosteroids and aminosalicylates. Chronic active as well as fulminant disease usually require immunosuppressive therapy. The new biological have mostly disappointed because of lacking efficacy (Il-10, IL-11 or others) or serious adverse events (infliximab).
