    t georgesT Georges,m borgM Borg,

The continuum generated by the filtering of solitons is studied analytically by use of a perturbation theory and numerically verified. The method applies to any filter transfer function and to sliding-frequency filtering as well. A general method for finding the input pulse adapted to a transmission line is presented and applied to the case of filtering.
