The authors present 2 cases of patients with neuroendocrine laryngeal cancers. In the first case the patient was 60-years old male and the primary cancer was located in the right pyriform fossa and in the supraglottic portion of the larynx. The main symptoms were throat sore, dysphagia and haemoptosis. Total laryngectomy with partial pharyngectomy and selective neck dissection were performed. The follow-up has been 2 years and no symptoms of reccurence was observed in the first year after treatment, but patient has died in the second year after treatment and the cause of dead is unknown. The second patient was 46 years old male, and the first symptoms were dysphagia and fagitability during speaking. In this case tumor was located in the intraarythenoidal region. There were much difficulties in histopathological diagnosis in presented case. The first microscopic diagnosis after microsurgery was low differentiated carcinoma and after the second biopsy--carcinoma mucoepidermoidale. Finally, after total laryngectomy the neuroendocrine cancer of the larynx was diagnosed. During 2 years follow-up no sings of reccurence have been observed. The authors are reviewing the literature on the pathologic features of this malignancy and analyzed some clinical and histopathological aspects of these carcinomata and some prognostic and therapeutic factors.
