Cheek cells obtained by rinsing the mouth commercial mouth wash solution. Mouth wash is then discarded into a sterile conical tube and sent to the lab. Based on Salting out procedure. DNA Laboratory, Medical School, Malta. - [Read DNA Extraction from Cheek Cells]
General Cell Culture- http://research.cm.utexas.edu/bkitto/Kittolabpage/Protocols/Immunology/GeneralCulture.html
Covers general things you need to know to get started in cell culture work. Includes: Sterile Technique; Growth of Your Cell Culture; - [Read General Cell Culture]
Protocol describes the use of glufosinate ammonium to select transformed Arabidopsis plants. The major advantage of glufosinate ammonium selection is that it can be performed on plants growing in soil and does not require the use of sterile techniques. - [Read Glufosinate Ammonium Selection of Transformed Arabidopsis Protocol]
Arabidopsis can be stably transformed using Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transfer of T-DNA. We describe the generation of transgenic plants via root transformation in tissue culture, which can be useful for transforming sterile mutants. - [Read Root Transformation of Arabidopsis Protocol]
Sterile technique is one of the most important steps in insuring consistent results when employing recombinant DNA and protein expression techniques. Dr. Chazin Lab, Center for Structural Biology, Vanderbilt Univ. - [Read Sterile Technique for DNA and Protein Expression]

Cultured cells require a sterile environment and a supply of nutrients for growth. Basic Constituents of media. Sigma - [Read The Cell Growth Environment]
Protocol describes a method for vasectomy in which the vas deferens is accessed through the abdominal wall. Mice are ready for mating after ~10-14 days. Vasectomized males can be bred with fertile females to obtain plugs for timed matings. The pseudopregnant females can then be used for oviduct and uterine transfers. For an alternative protocol, see Vasectomy for Generation of Sterile Males: Access via Scrotal Sac. - [Read Vasectomy for Generation of Sterile Males: Access via Abdominal Wall Protocol]

A protocol for the selection of Phage Antibodies using Immobilized Antigen. This method describes the selection of antibodies from bacteriophage antibody libraries that recognize a specific antigen. The phage display library of antibody-displaying phage particles is exposed to antigen attached to a solid substrate (Nunc Immuno™ tubes). The phage particles with affinity for antigen bind to the immobilized antigen and are selected from the library of phage expressing antibodies.
This protocol describes the electroporation of the BMH 81-17 mut S strain that is recommended for tranformation of the site directed mutagenesis of dsDNA (See Protocol on Site-Directed Mutagenesis on Double Stranded DNA). BMH 81-17 mut S are a mismatch repair defective (mut S) Escherichia coli strain. The probability that the two mutations will cosegregate during the first round of DNA replication is increased in this strain.
