Glass Capillary Tubing Used for Microinjection

The glass capillary tubing commonly used for microinjection used should be thin walled, borosilicate glass without a fiber. (a good example is supplied by Clark Electromedical Instruments with the following properties:)
  • OUTSIDE DIAMETER: 1.0 mm
  • INSIDE DIAMETER: 0.78 mm
  • LENGTH: 150 mm
  • GC 100T to 15 (= 15 cm)
  • GC 100T to 10 (= 10 cm)

Note that micro-injection pipettes should have an internal diameter only marginally larger than the stem cells (18 to 20 μm) and a sharp point that allows the needle to penetrate cleanly in the blastocoel cavity.
