according to the following way of viewing the problem, ng would be the
correct unit:

0.5mM = 5*E-4 M
1nL = 1*E-9 L
8300 g/mole = 8.3*E+3 g/mole thus

5 * E-4 * 1 * E-9 * 8.3 * E+3 = 5 * 1 * 8.3 * E-4 * E-9 * E+3 = 41,5 *
E-10 = 4,15 ng
