Default 5' UTR requirements

Hi everyone,
How important is the 5' UTR sequence in zebrafish? I have an RNA transcript and I'm looking to ligate about 20-30 bases to the beginning of it, right before a 27-nt leader sequence. Would a transcript with a random 20-nt random sequence on the 5' end still be likely to be translated correctly? The final transcript will have the 5' guanosine cap.
Thanks,
Julia
