Default microinjections

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Although it can be difficult, it is possible to approximate the volume
using a glass slide with a 1mm-.01mm scale on it. If you place a drop of
mineral oil on the slide, you can determine the volume being injected by
measuring the diameter of the injection dose. By adjusting the pressure
and length of the injections, you can achieve the desired volume. For
example, I usually try to inject doses that are .2mm in diameter (which
gives you roughly 8 nanoliters/injection). Since each glass needle breaks
differently, it is necessary to do this every time you use a new needle.
