| A post-doctoral position is available to study the role of the transcription factor Otx5 in regulating circadian rhythm in the zebrafish pineal organ (Nature Genetics (2002) 30:117-121). The pineal is a photoreceptive organ in the dorsal brain with an important role in circadian regulation via the cyclical synthesis of melatonin. Depletion of Otx5 results in reduced transcription of several circadian-regulated genes, including those involved in melatonin synthesis. Cleveland is an exciting city located on the shore of Lake Erie and offers a rich and interactive research community. Experience in molecular cell biology, biochemistry, or developmental biology is preferred.
