Default Using Detection Reagent for Westerns for DNA dot blot

Hi,

I was wondering if I could use the detection reagents - ECL Plus from Amersham - for a DNA dot blot. The reagents are for antibody-HRP for developing a western, and I would like to use it for to detect streptavidin-HRP bound to a biotinylated oligo. I just wanted to know if the reagents sold for DNA dot blots are the same, but just sold under a different name, or if they are indeed different.

Thank You,
Michael C

Hi MichaelC,

The answer is "absolutely yes". You can utilize the same reagent for your experiment, as the HPR conjugated to streptavidin is the key determining factor.

Good luck.
