Special blocking procedure/product for using mouse antibody on mouse tissue

I am wondering if there is something to help use antibody raised in mouse on mouse tissues in Western Blot analysis?

I have to use a particular antibody and I am getting a lot of background and I think it's probably because of the same species.

Hi there,

You have to use anti - mouse secondary antibody if there is mouse - primary antibody. Are you talking about your secondary antibody? I think you need an anti-mouse antibody, it's not possible to have mouse anti-mouse antibody so it would be an anti-mouse antibody raised in a different species, e.g. goat anti-mouse, rabbit anti-mouse, ect.

I have a mouse anti-human antibody against a gene which is conserved between the two species. I am attempting to use the antibody against the mouse gene however I am also getting considerable background in my westerns. I've tried blocking using an unconjugated Fab fragment for mouse IgG however it doesn't seem to have eliminated all the background.

I've had a similar issue when doing ICC. Lack of planning on my part and I had to use mouse ab on mouse tissue. Got terrible results with tons of bg. I would suggest finding another ab.
