Question Native proteins from isoelectric focusing gel

Hi everyone,

I`d like to separate my proteins by IEF before I denature them and perform the Western blotting, but I`m not sure if it is possible.

Is there anyone who is aquainted with this problem and might give me some tips on how to do that?

Yes it is possible. I've done it using the Micro Rotofor from Biorad. It separates your one Protein sample into ten fractions and then you load each fraction into a separate lane for native or SDS-PAGE.
Plan to practice many times, because you need steady hands to keep the fractions from mixing and spilling over into each other when you handle them.
