Default Western Blot Vs Immunohistochemistry

Could someone tell me the difference between this two? Am I right to say that usually people conduct western blot and followed by immunohistochemistry?

Hello Stacia,
usually western blot is used to analyze protein expression from cells (but can be used also to examine protein expression from tissue samples).

Immunohistochemistry is usually used to analyze the localization of proteins within a tissue section (however can be used for cells as well).

I hope that helped.

are you going to study both or use them in the lab?

Thanks! I'm going to use them in lab... i'm using cell line, to analyse at protein level, hence western blot will be use, but not quite sure whether to conduct immunocytochemistry as well? can it be some sort of confirmatory test for western blot?
