 two bands after doing wesrnblot i got two bands of GATA 4 heart protein why? is it so the actual weight of gata4 is 50kdalton and two bands are below 45kdaltons. whats the problem behind it.        |

| Re: two bands Hello, could it be a gel problem? Have others in the lab got similar results before? If not could be several things including: - gel issues - phosphorylation or post-translational modification of the protein - protein degradation - salt issues - contamination from other lanes |
