| why is a cold pack added to the transfer assembly ? If at the end of the transfer process you notice that the transfer assembly and buffer are quite warm should we be concerned? |

| Hello, we even transfer the western blots sometimes at room temperature, and they are ok. The ice pack will melt, meaning that it did its job in cooling the buffer/gel just enough to transfer it. However, the best thing to do is put it in the cold room at 4C, even there the ice pack/cold pack will melt eventually because its above zero. Are your bands/gel ok? |
