Lightbulb Dna Concentration Affect Cell Transfection

Hiya dudes,
I have a good question finally

Does DNA concentration affect cell transfection rates?

I mean if you use high DNA concentration do you get lower rates eventually?

Or is this due to the lipids (ie lipofectamine) that cause toxicity?

Fugene transfection you don't remove however I am sure there is some toxicity with it.

Yes, DNA concentration affect cell transfection rate. That's why optimization is recommended for every time you try a new cell line or a new transfection reagent. Using higher DNA concentration does't always give a better result. The DNA/ Transfection reagent ratio is important and should be optimized. Cell density is also important. Some Transfection reagents work better in high densities. Lipofectamine is an example.
Hope it helped.
