Question When is the Best Time to Transfect Cells?

Hi,
When is the Best Time to Transfect Cells?

Does it depend on confluence, cell cycle, age of cells?

thanks

Default Re: When is the Best Time to Transfect Cells?

Hey
I am very new to cell cultures and transfection but I know that the best time for transfection of any cell line is the Log phase, this would be when the cells are like 70-80% confluent and the number of passages should be less than 50X (for optimum results).
You should also worry about the ratio of the DNA to the transfection reagent u r using.
Hope it helps : )
Good luck
