Every year Americans leave for Mexico or Russia to get treatments that they can't get here. It's called medical tourism. Why can't America stay on top of the game? Don't get me wrong America is one of the best. But when it comes to stem cells it is seriously lacking.

Actually a number of now common treatments were derived from Adult stem cell research. In spite of all the hype and controversy the last few years, the fact is that there is little in the way of promising research in embryonic stem cells and if people are traveling thinking they are getting treatments from that, they might as well be buying from 'snake oil' salesmen.

I hear you. Smells like some sort of political interference to me. The big drug companies have to decide how to get their share first before we can proceed and catch up with the rest of the world.
