There has been some research on mesenchymal stem cells, which can form connective tissues. Using serum factors or some protein factors, mesenchymal stem cells intrinsic to a person can be induced to renew and proliferate, and differentiate into heart muscle cells to repair the heart. This becomes useful when it comes to coronary heart disease.
