| Hello, I just read up on culture: mesenchymal stem cells usually are grown in a modified DMEM medium with specific trace elements, FBS (fetal bovine serum) and L-glutamine. Long-term cultures of MSC may be established without HEPES, however HEPES buffered media was shown to be helpful. For differentiation of MSC into other lineages such as bone, cartilage, muscle or fat cells, you must add cytokines to media. Some very nice FAQ was prepared here: FAQ Please post back what you have found here so we may all learn, thanks Cheers! Last edited by moleculardude; 06-11-2007 at 01:00 PM. |
