I guess it depends if you want to go to established older labs with track records or new labs with new money.

I have a few good ideas for you:
For new money:

Recent gift of 5 million and a new Stem Cell facility

Last fall, a $10-million donation from Rob and Cheryl McEwen launched the McEwen Centre for Regenerative Medicine at Toronto's University Health Network.

California is spending money on stem cell research as well. Try and find out where the funding is going to! That will help a lot.

For established track records, try looking up in PubMed "Stem Cell" along with advanced search for the journals Cell, Science, Nature.
