| Hello. I'm having a problem with proteins getting "stuck" at the top of the gel and not running correctly. This is a new problem in the past month. Previously the gels were running fine. The blue band runs normally to the bottom of the gel and the marker runs fine, but when I blot, the proteins are in a narrow smear toward the top of the gel. We make our own bis/acrylamide gels. Any suggestions? |

| Have you tried making the running buffer again? Maybe you forgot something? An undergrad in our lab had a similar problem, and he was just trying to run the gels in 1% SDS, or something like that. |
