| Hello, I have a stupid question why do we centrifuge samples prior to loading gels such as sds-page gels? |

| well, it is better to centrifuge your samples prior to loading because if your sample contains some artifacts or other garbage then that settle down and you can load the soluble protein easily, otherwise that also go to the gel while you load your sample and stuck the sample to run in the gel. so it is better to centrifuge when you have a cell lysate in it, otherwise if you have a purified soluble protein then there is no need of prior centrifugation. best of luck regards aftab |
