| A new university research about cousumer trends and behaviours studied by Joan Meyers-Levy, professor at university of Minnesota, has found that floor surfaces can affect buying behaviour. A tiled floor compared to a plush carpet can make difference between customers feeling comfortable and feeling discontent while shopping. The study is based upon “the schema theory”. For example, if we had an incomplete idea of a table in our mind then the smoothness of the tiles under our feet would make us imagine that the table is also smooth. Professor Joan Meyers-Levy also added that There’s definitely that appeal of making a customer feel like they’re in a comforable setting, like they’re in their own home where they would actually use the product. Whether this effect is subconscious or not, flooring is perhaps something that should be taken into account when designing your store with beatiful tiles. ----------------------------- [Only registered users see links. ] Last edited by Eva2010; 07-23-2010 at 07:11 AM.
