Lightbulb Beating Heart Created In Laboratory: Method May Revolutionize How Organ Tissues Are D

By using a process called whole organ decellularization (in which the cells from the organ are removed and progenitor cells are added inside the organ and those grow to mature cells under sterilie laboratory conditions), scientists from the University of Minnesota Center for Cardiovascular Repair grew functioning heart tissue by taking dead rat and pig hearts and reseeding them with a mixture of live cells.
"The idea would be to develop transplantable blood vessels or whole organs that are made from your own cells” this way an organ can be replaced in the person by using his or her own cells and it will have least chance of rejection.
