Physicists like being married, as this proceeds by defined rules. Biologists like being single, as they can spread their genes as widely as possible. Biochemists, on the other hand, like having a wife and a mistress.

This means you can tell the wife that you are with the mistress, the mistress that you are with the wife and spend more time in the lab.

Brings back memories of being a post-doc. My Gf (now wife) never saw me, and her friends thought I was cheating on her.... in the lab 7 days a week, always leaving int he middle of parties to transfer gels etc.
