Question Due to the recession, what is the job market like in the zoology field?

Hello,

I apologize if I am being too broad by saying "zoology field." I currently work in marketing but I'm very unhappy. I have always wanted to work with animals so now I am thinking about getting a Master's degree in Zoology to make a career change. Specifically, I want the opportunity to travel the world and research animals. The main thing that is preventing me from doing this is fear of not being able to find a job after my studies. I know I'll probably make less money as an animal researcher than I do now, and I don't want to be stuck in debt the rest of my life after I get my Masters.

So what's it like out there?

Thanks in advance.
