Go to med school and get a job as a PI in a clinical research lab. Takes time to get there, but if you are smart and good with people, this could be down the road for you.

Hi all

I am new to this forum. I hold Masters degree in Biochemistry from India, because of my visa status, i didnt work, but now i have been trying for work, but not getting any replies for whatever jobs i applied. Whomever i say that i hold degree in Biochemistry, they say wooooow, its a nice field. I dont understand how to proceed with my career. Do i need lots of experience?
I have a year of exp in basic research in India and i have been a lecturer too for 2 years. I am helpless. Can anyone guide me in a correct way. Do i need to do any course here in US to get a job? If so, what course?
I actually is interested in research field, but now i have come to the decision to do any Biochem related jobs!
Plls pour in our suggestions :-(

What kind of position are you trying to get? Are you trying to get a job at a pharma / biotech company? If so, you'll want at least two years experience in a biotech or pharma company before trying to emigrate to the US with a work visa. Alternatively, you could try to come to the US by applying to a PhD program at an American university and getting a student visa. Student visas are MUCH easier to get than work visas.
