Default What is RNA interference?


What I actually want to know is where does the ds-RNA (double stranded RNA) come from and how does RNAi act as a method of cellular defense!

One potential source of dsRNA in a cell is viral genomes. As far as I've gathered, these can be chopped up and loaded into the RNAi system, suppressing viral replication.
