| well miRNA are the miRNA That are manily involved in gene silencing by later making the siRNA, so they are double stranded in a way that both complementry stranded come over each other to make that double stranded. any other suggestion......... regards aftab |

| Prior to associating with Argonaute, a free miRNA is a duplex. As the miRNA strand that will recognize target mRNAs is loaded onto miRISC, Argonaute cleaves the second strand which then dissociates from the complex.
