Default rRNA depletion prior to RNA-seq

Hi everybody! Do you have any experience with commercial kits for rRNA removal from total RNA prior to RNA-seq? I was considering some of the Invitrogen kits, but it is difficult to decide which one. I went through all the Invitrogen web, but the important issues are not obvious from the web page. The most important question for me is whether the sequences of the rRNA-specific probes are available anywhere? It is crucial for me to decide which kit should I use, since I work with non-model organism for which the kit definitely was not tested.
And furthermore, what is the difference between RiboMinus™ XXX Transcriptome Isolation Kit and RiboMinus™ XXX Kit for RNA-Seq? (XXX stands for an organism). And what is the difference between RiboMinus™ Human⁄Mouse Transcriptome Isolation Kit 6 reactions (K1550-01) and RiboMinus™ Transcriptome Isolation Kit (Human⁄Mouse) 6 reactions (K1550-02)? Both are for transcriptome isolation from Human/Mouse, both are for six reactions; just different price?

Thanks in advance for any tips/advices!

Default Re: rRNA depletion prior to RNA-seq

You can always contact the company and ask for the sequences, they can always say no, but often they will blast it for you against your species of interest and let you know if you should expect any cross hybridisation...
