Default mRNA isolation from FAC sorted cells

Hi, I am trying to isolate total RNA from 16,000-20,000 drosophila embryo cells that I get from the cell sorter. I have used TRIZOL and mRNeasy kit and with both methods I get poor yield and even worse 260/280 ratios. The peak is around 270 instead of 260. Any ideas on how I can improve this situation.

Thanks,

Najeeb
