Hello Nkaur!

welcome to the forums!

There are several ways to quantify RNA.

1) UV spectrometry - you can assay RNA quantity by its UV absorbance at 260 nm. A Shimadzu or equivalent UV spec machine would assay RNA quantity pretty accurately

2) Run the RNA on an agarose gel and run a quantitative ladder such as Lambda digestion ladder. Make sure you stain with Ethidium Bromide to be quanitative.

Well...guess it depends on what he/she is working on. If we are talking about mRNA quantification of specific genes then I would recomend Northern Blot, RNase protection assays...and above all qPCR

Just use UV absorbance!
