Biotin RNA EMSA Kit from Pierce

Hi !
I would like to perform bitinylated RNA (can be designed by Dharmacon, Lafayette, CO) and Pierce Lightshift kit, but I talked to technical support at pierce and they made it clear that the kit is for protein-DNA interaction and non for protein/RNA interaction use?

for those of you who use the kit for RNA EMSA, do you use a specuial buffer other that the one in the kit?

I am the newbie now in the same situation. Before I take the $$ plunge, can the experienced comment on how well the manual's protocol works as is for RNA EMSA? Please help!

Yes I have gotten it to work for RNA EMSA there are a few threads with this information.

Try a search if you don't find it I can post it here.

I guess there's no better way than to just try it myself. I'm going to try the SYBR/SYPRO EMSA kit from Molecular Probes (invitrogen) in case it happens to work; it looks far simpler but I was told it's less sensitive. We'll see.

I wouldnt go with the SYBR/SYPRO... I doubt it would work but try it (make sure you can get a refund).

The Pierce EMSA kit is amazing.
