RNA Extraction from Brain Tissue Hi! In my lab we are about to start some RNA extraction on brain tissue. I was just wondering if their are anything in particular to watch out for, or any helpful tip? I've been reading that because if the high lipid concentration in the tissues, this can make the extraction difficult. Are there any particular kits that are more suited for brain tissue? Thanks! |
Re: RNA Extraction from Brain Tissue Few year Back i isolated RNA from Brain tissue. I started with regular kit, but very less RNA yield. Through my colleague i learned that because of high fat in brain tissue affect quality and quantity of RNA. Protocol they suggest was isolate RNA fraction by trizol method, then use RNA clean up protocol using RNA isolation Qiagen kit. This way one can isolate good quality of RNA. |
Re: RNA Extraction from Brain Tissue Isolation of RNA from fat rich tissue using RNA isolation is not good idea in my experience. First isolate RNA fraction using Trizol Method then purify the RNA fraction using RNA clean up protocol from leading RNA isolation Kit. |
Re: RNA Extraction from Brain Tissue Thanks for the advice! I think it's best not to tempt fate and just go with the trizol method and rna clean-up |
Re: RNA Extraction from Brain Tissue I see you've done some work with brain studies. What about the protein zif268,know anyone thats cloned the protein and inserted with a sringe in the brain to see results of that? |
Re: RNA Extraction from Brain Tissue Ever done in cloning of the zif268 protein? Know anyone thats done that and inserted it with a sringe inside the cranium? Probaly the safest way to ingest is orally though. |
