Default tRNA help

What is the function of tRNA? why are there loads of different tRNAs more than different amino acids but less than number of codons?

Default Re: tRNA help

Hi
tRNA is an adoptor molecule that has anti-codon sequence so that it is loaded with amino acid, it form base pair with mRNA (codon) and un-load its amino acid to the growing amino acid chain.
as there is degeneracy in codon so some amino acids are encoded by many codon, so in the same way there are more tRNA molecule that binds with same amino acid and transfer it to the growing amino acid chain.

regards
aftab
