Question Taqman vs Roche

We are making a technology shift from Taqman microfluidic cards (64 genes) to Roche (<20 genes). We are using UPL probes. We consistently observe that Cp values are higher than Ct values (5 cycles difference), although data are very reproducible we worry that this may effect our detection limit.
On the other hand, we saw that Applied is selling sybre green dyes ("Power" that reduce the Cp values and/or increase reproducibility on the Roche 384 lightcycler compared with non-identified competitor dyes, does anybody know what the molecular basis is of this improvement?
