 Re: ABI 7900HT, CFX384 and Lightcycler 480 Hi all, I came across this forum while searching for a response to an issue I'm going through with my 7900HT. Hopefully, someone will have some information to share with me! I performed a Real-Time PCR using a homemade mastermix in which I had manually added the SYBR Green I dye. Once my run had finished I could not detect any signal from my reaction. I've read that SYBR Green I dye has spectral charateristics for which it can be detected by the argon-ion laser of the 7900HT, making them compatible. However, when reading the istruction of the 7900HT, SYBR Green I dye is always cited as a component of the SYBR Green mastermix. So now, my point is: can I use a homemade mastermix containing a manually added SYBR Green I dye in a 7900HT instrument, or does the instrument need specifically the SYBR Green Mastermix? Thank you!  |
