Talking Masking effect in ELISA

I am 'making' my first ELISA (ran only one ELISA before in my life and it was a kit). I'm trying to make sure I don't have a masking effect. When I diulte my plasma, my absorbance values increase but only by .2-fold for every 10-fold dilution. Is this a great enough absorbance increase with dilution for me to be concerned about MASKING?
Also since I am looking for a protein, the usual methods of fixing a masking effect - heating or decreasing pH probably are not a good idea. Does anyone have other suggestions?
Thanks, LIZAELISA

Are you doing Sandwich ELISA or Competitive ELISA? What does the best fit curve look like linear, quadratic (polynomial)?
