formaldehyde induced arthritis Dear all, I am working on chronic inflammation, in which i'll be inducing arthritis by injecting 2% formaldehyde into the plantar region of the rat's hind paw, and i'll be testing the activity of a plant extract for its anti-arthritic effect. In literature it has been recorded that the treatment period is for 10 days(on day 1 arthritis will be induced and an another injection of formaldehyde will be given on day 3 and the treatment will be given orally starting from day 1 until day 10), is it an enough period for arthritis to occur and be treated? and what is the mechanism that formaldehyde will induce arthritis? and why should i inject the rat twice with formaldehyde? Thank you Yara Malakha __________________________________________________ _______________ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger! [1]MSN Messenger Download today it's FREE! References 1.
