| I'm an undergraduate considering a project using linker scanning mutagenesis in Drosophila. First off, is linker scanning worth the trouble if the lab is already going to do point (EMS) mutagenesis? If you think it's a good idea, I'd like to maximize the information I can obtain from the experiment. I was hoping I could get protein structure information as well locations of regulatory sequences (the primary goal). Does anyone have any suggestions for kits or protocols? The GPS-LS Linker Scanning System from NEB looks good. My budget is about a 1000 USD. Thanks, Chris |
