SDS-PAGE band quantification

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a good method for reliable protein quantification of
bands on SDS-PAGE gels. Info on appropriate stain and visualisation
techniques needed.

We use NIH imaging software. It is meant for a Mac, but there is
version for PC's at [Only registered users see links. ]. When quantifying the amount of
protein we always include a sample of known concentration on our gel.
It works for both Coomassie blue stained gels and for western blot
films.

I agree with that. I use Scion Image for all our quantitation needs (DNA,
RNA and protein). Very good, very simple to use... and free.

Can anyone give me a detailed analysis method for the SDS-PAGE protein bands with Scion image.
