| >Dear Sean, Surprisingly enough, I think this actually was a problem previously when I was using Triton X-100 as the detergent. I was aware that polyether detergents could breakdown and produce peroxides, and my TX100 stock was getting old. Changing from the TX100 to the Tween actually improved the signals, although I then started with background problems that the Triton was solving - the original reason to use it. Since identifying the milk as a contributor to the problem I've gone back over my lab book and confirmed that the problems did become worse and more frequent after starting with it. I wonder if the problem is the Argentine brand we're using. Sean --- |
