Default Microvessel prep

We want to determine both protein (WB) and mRNA (rtQPR) on neuronal microvessel preps. Does someone have a protocol or ideas on obtaining such a prep on rat brain samples? The trick is to get the samples ready before substantial loss of RNA during the prep. Thank you!
