 Vit D3 AND THP1 cells I need to add 10-7 M Vitamin D3 to express CD14 of THP1 cells. I have 10ug (Sigma) and need to reconstitute it. Does anyone know what to dissolve vitamin d3 with??? I have seen some references that have dissolved it with 100% ethanol to 10-3 M and stored at -20 deg and then diluted with medium when required. I am concerned about adding ethanol to my cell culture system... Some help would be greatly appreciated..        |

| Re: Vit D3 AND THP1 cells Dear Smm, welcome to the forums! I have also seen Vitamin D dissolved in ethanol. I think you do not need to worry much as you may be adding a very small amount (microliters) and also you could add 100% ethanol without vitamin D as a control to your control cells (no vitamin D treatments). I will look for an alternative however. Please tell post here if you find an alternative. Thanks! Admin |

| Re: Vit D3 AND THP1 cells According to the instructions u can dilute Vit. D3 in ethanol, ethyl ethanol and DMSO. I'm using ethanol myself and the end concentration in the cell culture is only 0,01 % so its not doing much harm imo |
