Default Is the Proteome program still around?

I learned about the proteome program in my bio class and Im curious to know if it is still ongoing. If it is, are there any research facilities in the states and what colleges would be good to go to in order to get involved. I saw on the website that it is ongoing in europe but I'd like to do it in the states if possible. Thanks in advance!
