What is the difference between the study of genomics and the study of proteomics?

Please explain it simple words. I don't want all the hard vocabulary.

A simple differentiation: GENOMICS is the study of genes; how they interact and work together (or against each other). PROTEOMICS is the study of gene products, i.e., polypeptides and proteins.
