 4-vinylpyridine in proteomics I have a question regarding the use of 4-vinylpyridine in IEF vs SDS-PAGE. Typically I use IAA, but I read also of the possibility to use 4-VP. I wonder if it is possible to use this alkylating agent Last edited by stefaniamasci; 05-04-2011 at 08:48 AM.  |

| Re: 4-vinylpyridine in proteomics Sure. When 2 different alkylation needed, people will have to use another one. You may also consider N-ethylmaleimide, acrylamide or dimethylacrylamide, or N-isopropyl iodoacetamide. |
